XRP Price Prediction: The $28 Target and the Real Odds
Can XRP really hit $28? Here is my XRP price prediction breakdown in plain words. Standard Chartered is the only big bank with a real XRP price target. It calls for $2.80 by the end of 2026, $7.00 by the end of 2027 and $28.00 by the end of 2030. XRP was at $1.49 when I made this video on October 4, 2026, so even the near target is close to a double. Based on XRP’s own price swings, the odds of it touching $2 in the next 12 months are about 59% to 63%. I also cover the one real analyst target on HYPE, the Hyperliquid token, and the price targets you should ignore.
Key takeaways
- Standard Chartered is the only bank with a real XRP price target: $2.80 for the end of 2026, $7.00 for 2027, $12.60 for 2028 and $28.00 for 2030.
- XRP was at $1.49 as of October 4, 2026. That is 59% below its July 2025 all time high of $3.65.
- A model built on XRP’s own volatility gives it a 59% to 63% chance of touching $2 within 12 months, and only a 2% to 4% chance of reaching $7.
- Prediction markets on October 3, 2026 priced XRP above $2 at some point in 2026 at 47.5% on Kalshi.
- HYPE has exactly one current analyst target: about $106 from CF Benchmarks, 19% above where it trades now.
- Run the market cap math on any target. $1,000 XRP would need a $63 trillion market cap, so it is impossible.
Where XRP stands right now
XRP was at $1.49 at the time I made this video. That is 59% below the all time high of $3.65 from July 2025, and XRP is down 51% over the past year. So yes, it has been a rough stretch.
On the weekly chart it was a rough week, and I told you it would be. The 5 and 13 EMAs are still coming up, and price is retesting the 50 EMA. It looks like a double top. One of two things happens from here. Either we lose the 13 EMA and slide all the way back toward $1, or we take out the 50 EMA over the next few weeks and start to run. I am hopeful for the second one. I cannot promise it.
Here is the bigger picture I have been talking about since January. If crypto follows a normal cycle, October or November should be the bottom, and the new cycle should start right around then. We are in October now. I think we are in the last stages of consolidation after that long crypto winter. Could we retest the bottom one more time? Absolutely. If we do, I think it sets up a spectacular rebound.
The money coming in is real. About $1.79 billion has gone into XRP ETFs so far this year, with eleven straight weeks of net inflows. You do not get a couple billion dollars into something unless people are serious.
Standard Chartered XRP price prediction: the $28 ladder
Standard Chartered is the only big bank with a genuine sell side price target on XRP. It comes from Geoff Kendrick, their Global Head of Digital Assets Research, in a note dated February 16, 2026. Here is the ladder:
- End of 2026: $2.80. That is 88% above today.
- End of 2027: $7.00. That is 370% above today, a 4.7 times move.
- End of 2028: $12.60.
- End of 2030: $28.00.

Be fair about the method. These targets come from Fibonacci extension levels, not from a cash flow model. And they change like the weather. Their old end of 2026 number was $8.00, and they cut it by 65% on February 16. Anybody still quoting $8 is using a number that is about eight months stale.
I hope they are right, because $2.80 would be a beautiful gain for my portfolio. For the bigger targets, I think a lot has to go right: the next cycle has to take off, and something like the Clarity Act has to pass. That is my opinion on what it would take. If you want the backstory on that bill, read what happened to crypto after the Clarity Act failed.
Who else has an XRP target, and who does not
I checked every major firm. The list of who does not have a target is the useful part.
- JPMorgan: estimated $4.3 billion to $8.4 billion of first year XRP ETF inflows. That is a flow estimate, not a price target, and the note is from January 2025.
- VanEck: publishes research on the XRP Ledger but has no XRP price target.
- ARK Invest: Big Ideas 2026 covers bitcoin, tokenization and DeFi. XRP is not mentioned at all.
- BlackRock: no XRP ETF, no filing and no target.
- Grayscale, 21Shares and Franklin: all run XRP ETFs, and none of them publishes a price target.
- Citi: the $28 Citi target going around XRP channels is for Galaxy Digital, the stock. It has nothing to do with XRP.
When one bank has a target and everyone else has nothing, I do not read that as bearish. It means the asset is still uncovered by Wall Street. That can change.
The real odds over the next 12 months
Targets are opinions. Odds are math. These numbers come from a model built on XRP’s own realized volatility of 67% to 82%, assuming no upward drift at all. They show the chance XRP touches each price at any point in the next 12 months:
- $2.00: 59% to 63%
- $2.50: 37% to 42%
- $2.80 (the Standard Chartered 2026 target): 28% to 34%
- $3.00: 24% to 29%
- $3.65 (the all time high): 14% to 19%
- $5.00: 6% to 9%
- $7.00 (the Standard Chartered 2027 target): 2% to 4%
That $2 number is not bad at all. Going from about $1.50 to $2 is roughly 33% up, with about a 60% chance. Doubling to $3 is around 25% to 30%, and I like that. Getting to $7 is the long shot. It is like going to the horse races and betting on the long shot.
What the prediction markets say
These are live prices where people have real money on the line. They were pulled from Kalshi and Polymarket on October 3, 2026:
- Kalshi: XRP above $2 at some point in 2026 at 47.5%. This is the most liquid contract on the board.
- Polymarket: XRP touches $2 before December 31 at 39%.
- Kalshi: XRP above $2.50 this year at 26%.
- Kalshi: XRP above $3 this year at 17%. Polymarket has the same question nearer 12%.
- Polymarket: a brand new XRP all time high before the end of 2026 at 6.35%.
- Polymarket: $5 XRP this year at 1.75%.
Only about three months are left in these 2026 contracts, so a 47% chance of $2 is a constructive number. But I do not treat prediction markets like a crystal ball. Those odds change fast. The moment a run starts, for whatever reason, they can explode up or down.
Three positioning signals I am watching
Record options on the Bitwise XRP ETF. Open interest hit a record 24,777 contracts, up 26%. That sits in the 97.7th percentile against a 52 week average of 6,185. The put to call ratio is 0.30, which means about 78% of it is calls. The biggest build is in November LEAPS. A LEAP is an option that expires a year or more out. If you follow the cycles, that timing makes sense to me.
Leveraged funds are short. Leveraged funds on the CME are net short about 116 million XRP, with 892 long contracts against 3,206 short in the CFTC report through August 25, 2026. If I am right that the rally comes in October, November and into next year, shorts have to buy, and those call options could print. I dug into who is short in my XRP short squeeze reset breakdown.
The XRP market cap sanity check
This is the fastest way to tell a real number from a fake one. XRP has about 63.09 billion tokens circulating. Multiply that by any price and you get the market cap that price requires:
- $2.00: $126 billion
- $2.80: $177 billion
- $3.65: $230 billion
- $5.00: $315 billion, about what Ethereum is worth today ($327 billion)
- $7.00: $442 billion
- $10.00: $631 billion, which would be 22% of the entire crypto market, up from about 3.2% now
To get to $20 and up, XRP needs well over a trillion dollars in market cap. Now run the viral targets through that test. A $1,000 XRP needs a $63 trillion market cap, roughly 22 times the whole crypto market. Impossible. A $100 XRP needs $6.3 trillion, more than twice the whole crypto market. Still impossible. The $60,000 XRP “Forbes” claim was never published by Forbes. It was a promotion for an unrelated token.
HYPE price prediction: the one real target
HYPE is up 334% from its January 21 low of $20.46, and it set a new all time high about ten days before this video. It now trades around $88.77, about 9% off that high.
There is exactly one current analyst target on HYPE. It comes from CF Benchmarks, the index provider behind CME’s bitcoin and ether reference rates. Mark Pilipczuk put a one year fair value of about $106 on it on June 10, 2026. That is about $101 billion fully diluted and 19% above today. His method is a probability weighted model: 20% bear case, 60% base case and 20% bull case, with forward multiples of 40 to 75 times. The two older real targets, FalconX at $80 and Oak at $49, have both already been passed.
What I like about Hyperliquid is that the bull case is built on the protocol’s own revenue, not on somebody’s feelings:
- $906 million in fees over the trailing twelve months.
- $684 million of that revenue, about 75% of every dollar of fees, goes to the Assistance Fund.
- That fund buys about $1.74 million of HYPE every day, roughly 7.2 million HYPE a year coming off the float.
- CoinShares measured the historical price to fees band at 7 to 25 times, with an average of 11.8.
- CoinShares has a 2031 base case of $147, a bull case of $456 and a bear case of $8. That is a five year model, not a 12 month one.
- The record fee month was August 2025 at $144.97 million. September 2026 did about $72 million.
Here is my opinion. If the US allows Hyperliquid access to US markets for perpetuals, its revenue could go through the roof. That is a risk I am willing to take.
What I am doing with XRP and HYPE
I own both, and I am nibbling. I am dollar cost averaging into my positions because I believe we are heading into a long term bull run over the next year. Here are my three decisions and the reason behind each.
On XRP, I am buying into the gap between the odds and the coverage. The model and the prediction markets both say roughly a coin flip on $2 inside a year, and only one bank in the world has a target on it.
On HYPE, I am anchored to the fee line, not the price. The only honest 12 month target is $106. What would change my mind on that is fees breaking back toward the record month of August 2025.
I am adding on the dates, not in between them. There are seven dated catalysts in the next twelve months, including Ripple Swell in New York on October 27 to 29 and the November options window. I would rather be positioned into those than chase a green candle on a Tuesday.
The honest summary: XRP has the better risk reward and the worse momentum. HYPE has the better business. And the counterweight is real. XRP is down 51% in a year. A target and a certainty are two different things.
Common questions
What is Standard Chartered’s XRP price prediction?
Standard Chartered’s note dated February 16, 2026 targets $2.80 by the end of 2026, $7.00 by the end of 2027, $12.60 by the end of 2028 and $28.00 by the end of 2030. The targets come from Fibonacci extension levels.
Can XRP reach $28?
It would take well over a trillion dollars in market cap with about 63.09 billion XRP circulating. The volatility model gives $7 in the next 12 months only a 2% to 4% chance, so $28 is a long term idea, not a this year idea.
What are the odds XRP hits $2?
A model built on XRP’s own volatility puts the chance of touching $2 within 12 months at 59% to 63%. Prediction markets on October 3, 2026 had it at 47.5% on Kalshi and 39% on Polymarket for this year.
What is the HYPE price target?
The only current analyst target is CF Benchmarks’ one year fair value of about $106, set on June 10, 2026. That is about 19% above the $88.77 price in this video.
