XRP and HYPE Price Targets for the Next 12 Months
HYPE just printed another all time high, the fourth record in eight days. XRP is finally running too, up about 5% on Tuesday. I own both. In this video I gave you my next 12 month view on each one, walked through everything the SEC and the CFTC actually did in 2026, and showed the live odds the prediction markets put on XRP and HYPE by year end. Here is the full breakdown.
Key takeaways
- HYPE hit a new all time high at $96.87 on Tuesday. That is four records in eight days. XRP closed near $1.58 and cleared its 50 day moving average.
- The Clarity Act lost its cloture vote 49 to 50 on September 15. It needed 60. That hurt, but Congress is only one of four tracks, and the agencies kept building.
- The SEC took seven actions in 2026. The March 17 interpretation named XRP as a digital commodity. The big one, Regulation Crypto Assets, is still open for comment until October 20.
- Kraken’s parent company is bringing Hyperliquid markets to US traders through a CFTC regulated exchange. A former SEC lawyer puts approval at 10 to 12 months. I say 6 to 18.
- Prediction markets give HYPE an 87% chance of touching $100 by year end. They give XRP a 46% chance of touching $1.20 first, so the downside is real.
- My lines: XRP breaks down below $1.41. HYPE goes to $100 to $110 before a pullback, in my opinion.
The charts first: XRP is running and HYPE is at records
XRP put in a double break of the upper Bollinger band. I always watch for that. It usually means price is getting up to a spot where it consolidates for a bit. My next stop is $1.70, and it may take a few days.
The normal route after a break like this is a dip back to the 13 day average, then the bounce. The RSI is only 67. The way I read RSI, 60 to 70 means we are running and 75 or above means overheated. So we are running, not overheated. The 5 day EMA sits at $1.51, right under the price at $1.58.
Then there is HYPE. When I recorded the charts it was at $97.55, another all time high. When it was in the 70s I told you I was adding and that I thought it would go to $100 to $110 within two to four weeks. It has moved more than 20% in under a week. The RSI is at 70, so it is getting hot. My opinion is we hit $100 to $110 and then pull back.
Where the whole market stands right now
Tuesday was a very good day. XRP was up about 5% with volume up roughly 160%. HYPE closed at a record $96.87. Bitcoin tagged about $87,381 intraday before easing back to around $86,100. The total crypto market moved back above $3 trillion for the first time since January, at about $3.03 trillion.
Bitcoin ETFs took in $999 million on Monday, the biggest single day since October 2025. The Fear and Greed index is at 70, which is greed. It was a neutral 51 the day the Fed raised rates a week earlier.
Be careful with one thing. XRP ETFs took in exactly zero on Monday while Bitcoin took in almost a billion. This rally is not being driven by XRP ETF money.
Over the past 12 months HYPE is up about 100% while XRP is down about 46%. That is why I diversified. Hyperliquid is the only one of these making new highs, because it is a real business. And with price at a record, there is no trapped supply above it waiting to sell into you.
The Clarity Act failed, but it is only one of four tracks
Everybody watched the Clarity Act die on September 15. It lost the cloture vote 49 to 50 when it needed 60. That is a real setback. But it is one of four tracks, and the one that moved the least this year. The SEC, the CFTC and the regulated exchanges kept moving.
If the bill just dies and nothing crosses the finish line, that is wrong. I still believe they get it done, but not until almost a year from today, as we go into 2027.
Everything the SEC actually did in 2026
The SEC stopped waiting for Congress and started building. Here are the seven actions, in order.
- January 28: a staff statement on tokenized securities that laid out the models.
- March 11: a formal memorandum of understanding with the CFTC and a joint harmonization push.
- March 17: the joint interpretation naming 16 tokens as digital commodities. XRP is on it.
- April 13: relief so certain wallet front ends do not have to register as broker dealers.
- August 18: Regulation Crypto Assets proposed. 146 pages. Comments close October 20.
- September 1: transfer agent rules proposed, written to cover blockchain and tokenized shares.
- September 17: the innovation exemption order, issued two days after the bill died.
Look at the dates. The two biggest items landed in August and September, and the exemptive order came 48 hours after Congress failed.
One honest note on XRP. Being named by ticker in a federal document as a digital commodity is a big deal. But an interpretation is not a statute, and it does not hand the CFTC day to day authority over spot XRP.
Regulation Crypto Assets: the big one is still open
This is the most consequential crypto document in Washington right now, and it is a proposal, not a law. Three parts matter.
First, a $75 million fundraising exemption per 12 month period, with financial statements and ongoing reporting. There is also a smaller startup tier of up to $5 million over four years.
Second, a safe harbor. This is the part that matters most. It is a conditional path out of the investment contract definition once a project certifies it has ended its essential managerial efforts. That is the holy grail ask.
Third, state law. It would preempt blue sky rules for those offerings and certain secondary transactions. One federal path instead of 50 state ones. Comments close October 20, so this is live right now.
The innovation exemption: what it does and where it stops
A tokenized stock venue can now operate without registering as an exchange. It took effect on September 17 and runs a five year term into September 2031. All three sitting commissioners supported it, and only three of five seats are filled, so that is the whole Commission agreeing.
But the caps are real and almost nobody reads them. There are 75 symbols in the lower tier and 250 in the upper one. Volume is capped at 0.25% and 2.5% of the underlying stock’s daily volume. Repeat breaches trigger a three month pause. And it does not cover perpetual futures, leverage or synthetics. That matters directly for Hyperliquid. This is a sandbox for tokenized shares, not a general crypto permission slip.
The CFTC did something historic too
On May 29 the CFTC approved the first US listed true Bitcoin perpetual futures contract and issued a policy statement classifying perpetuals as futures rather than swaps. Could that help Hyperliquid get into the US legally within the next 6 to 18 months? I think the answer is yes.
Then on August 20 the chairman announced a concept for a new type of regulated exchange called a crypto asset market, and said staff had started writing the rules. It could let crypto exchanges that are not registered today be designated in this new category. It is at the White House budget office now, and no text is public yet.
Kraken’s parent is bringing Hyperliquid to US traders
This is the side entrance. Kraken’s parent company is bringing Hyperliquid markets to US traders through a CFTC regulated exchange it acquired, with a registered clearing firm carrying the accounts. That is a real regulated path, not an offshore workaround.
It requires staking 500,000 HYPE for at least 183 days. That was roughly $46 million at the announcement and is worth more today. An institution locking up that much supply is its own bull argument.
The honest timeline: a former SEC lawyer put approval at 10 to 12 months. I say 6 to 18 months, which lands mid to late 2027. No contracts have listed yet, so this is a catalyst, not a current fact. The president did say in August that the CFTC is working on it, and the token jumped 11% that day. That is a statement, not an order.
XRP price predictions and the live odds
I am not going to make up a number for a thumbnail, because almost every target you see online has the time horizon stripped off. So here are the real calls with their horizons, and then the live odds.
Peter Brandt, a 40 year chart veteran, has $5.40 with no horizon given, and he says XRP must first reclaim about $1.88. I tend to agree. Standard Chartered had $2.80 for the end of 2026 in a February note, and $7 for the end of 2027 on the same ladder. The top rung is a $28 call for 2030. There are always a lot of ifs with these.
Now the live odds for XRP by year end. Touching the old record high: about 3%. Touching $3: 13%. Touching $2.80: 15%. Touching $2.60: 18%. On the downside, the market gives a 46% chance of touching $1.20. These are touch marks. They resolve yes if price ever touches that level.
My levels behind it. Step one for the bull case is to clear $1.60 to $1.65. Step two is to reclaim the 18 month average near $1.88, which is Peter Brandt’s own precondition. The measured move off the pattern that just broke gets you to $2. And the line where it breaks is $1.41. If we lose $1.41, we are going down.
HYPE valuations and the odds of $100
HYPE has real valuations with real horizons because it has real earnings. Multicoin Capital gets $319 based on projected 2028 earnings at a 20 times multiple. A July discounted cash flow bull case comes in at $281. The 21Shares bull case from August gets $120 at a 15% required return. A probability weighted fair value lands at $118, and CF Benchmarks had $106 back in June.

The prediction markets give HYPE an 87% chance of touching $100 by year end. They give it 38% for $120 and 18% for $150. And here is the one to remember: a 59% chance of touching $75 first. Keep that in mind when you size.
Why I am bullish on HYPE for the next 12 months
Five things, and they compound. One, it earns money. It is the number one crypto project by 2026 revenue, $429 million through September 15, about 13% of all of it. Two, it buys itself. Nearly all protocol fees go into buying HYPE, roughly 7% of the market cap a year. Three, it burns. About 48.8 million HYPE has been bought and burned, roughly 4.9% of the max supply. Four, the US door through Kraken’s parent. Five, the venue is at records, with open interest at $8.3 billion and total value locked at $7.6 billion.
The honest one: roughly 9.9 million tokens a month can unlock, and the buyback retires about a sixth of that. Dilution is always the fear.
Four things I am watching
First, this rally is running on leverage, not accumulation. Open interest across crypto is about $160 billion, the highest since late 2025, and positions are being replaced as fast as they get liquidated. That means big runs and big falls, so be careful with leverage right now.
Second, ETF money for XRP has effectively stopped. Third, CME sued the CFTC in June arguing perpetuals are swaps and not futures. It is unresolved, and if it goes the wrong way, the May decision is back in play. Fourth, every one of these agency wins is reversible. Whoever wins the White House in 2028 leads the SEC and the CFTC, and pro crypto candidates are on both sides.
